Many company and personal websites range from the very simple one-pager to full blown communities. Of those websites, over 30% of them are powered by WordPress and there’s a reason for that.If you don’t already have a website or are looking to make one, WordPress will easily come up in search results. When most people hear about WordPress they think of a blog, but WordPress can be so much more than that. Here we break down a list of why WordPress is an excellent choice for your website regardless of your needs.

1. Simple and Customizable

WordPress has created a system that’s easy enough for beginners to understand, but customizable enough to where anything and everything can be modified. Just make sure you know what you’re doing if you decide to dissect its inner workings.

2. Constantly Evolving

WordPress is always being updated and there are no fees to keep it updated yourself. The developers behind WordPress are constantly working to sort bugs, close security holes, and keep up with the times.

3. Design Options

Design your website from scratch or install one of the thousands of pre-built themes available for free or purchase. You can even customize an existing theme to suit your tastes. The only thing preventing you from having the beautiful website you want is your own imagination.

4. Functionality

Similar to themes, there are thousands of plugins available to modify the way your website looks and works. You can add features that don’t come standard with the default WordPress installation to make your site work the way you want it to.

5. Search Engine Optimized

There are built-in features to change things such as text tags, title tags, and other things to help you rank higher in search results. There are also a ton of excellent plugins that you can use to help you with SEO if you wanted (our favorite is the Yoast SEO plugin).

6. Responsive

WordPress by default is build to be responsive. This is also tied into SEO because the responsiveness of your website on several device types are a huge factor in where you rank. But not only that, it’s also nice to just have a site that looks good regardless of browsing from a computer or a phone.

7. Scalable

As your business grows, so might your website needs. With WordPress you can easily add pages and post new blogs with a simple to use interface that resembles most text editors you’re already used to seeing.

8. Open Source

WordPress is open source software, which means the code is publicly available for anyone. This is great news because it allows more than just the developers of the software to figure out bugs or security issues and have those issues addresses quickly. There are a ton of resources for you to learn from for free because of the nature of open source software so you can rest assured that somewhere on the web, someone will have an answer for any question you may have.
